Each year, the Middle School goes on at least two very exciting, but educational trips: The 7th grade students go to Bandelier National Monument and all students participate in Skiing/Snowboarding at Wolf Creek Ski Area.

Bandelier National Forest in New Mexico is a 2-1/2 day camping trip for 7th grade only.  This trip is filled with fun activities such as hiking and swimming. The trip is also a tremendous educational opportunity to not only learn about ancient cultures, but also plant life and navigational techniques.  The students are divided up into small groups, and each group is responsible for the preparation and planning of the trip (everything from making sure they have all the equipment they need to purchasing food for the 2-1/2 days). Students journal their experience and write a report for a grade. Click on the link to the left for information and pictures.

At Wolf Creek Ski Area, students are able to either ski or snowboard.  Lessons are required regardless of ability.  Wolf Creek Ski Area gives our school a great deal on lift tickets, lessons and rentals.  Click on the link to the left for more information.

Finally, the 2009-2010 school year began a tradition of our 8th grade students going on a rafting trip down the San Juan River to send them off for the summer in style! With the help of experienced expert guides at Wilderness Journeys this all day rafting trip is filled with excitement and fun.
