Captain America & Healthy Kids
Every morning at 7:55am, Captain America lands on the roof of Pagosa Elementary swooping down to launch the kids & teachers into their days with heart pumping, blood flowing, body awakening EXERCISE!  Teachers come out on the playground, kids turn their attention to the roof & Captain America leads the Pagosa Elementary Team for 10 minutes of “Wake Up for Good Learning” exercise. He then leads everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and the honoring of any fallen soldiers from Colorado before jetting off to places unknown. Some kids say Captain America looks very familiar….. but we know that’s just because they see him every morning on the roof.

We would ask that if you are a parent on the playground when Capitan America begins exercising that you would respectfully join in. Teaching our kids healthy habits is an important part of their development.

Other healthy things happening at Pagosa Elementary include a restructuring of the Food Service Department so that more of the meals are being prepared with a home cooked feel, using more raw foods thus reducing the amount of process foods the kids are being served.
